Elizabeth Gilmore

Elizabeth has always had a love for athletics and the outdoors. While she is a relative newcomer to rowing, she has quickly made her mark. She won gold in the inaugural World Rowing Versa Competition at WRICH Toronto in 2023, and has won medals and hammers at ErgSprints, CRASH-Bs, and other races. Elizabeth also holds a number of Concept2 World Records, ranging from the Slides 100m up to the 100k RowErg. On the water, she rows for the Capital Rowing Club master’s sweep team.

Before rowing, Elizabeth ran track and cross-country, and had a brief stint in powerlifting. She is also an avid hiker and backpacker, and no stranger to spending time without the luxury of indoor plumbing.

When not training, she works in healthcare data science and is raising her family. Elizabeth is supported in this adventure by her husband Jeff, who will have his hands full taking care of their four boys while she is on the ocean.

Elizabeth is looking forward to this opportunity to test limits, experience both the beauty and challenge of the open seas, and raise awareness for some great causes. She frequently reminds her children that “whether you think you can or you think you can’t, you’re right”, and is eager to see what this crew can do together.
